It all started with a cycling trip through Europe. Dean, the founder of 1bike1world, knew that he wanted to leave his native Scotland and cycle around the world. What he did not expect was to come across a feisty little kitten on the Bosnia-Montenegro border. As soon as these two saw each other, it was love. Dean quickly got his newly found kitten the medical care she needed and named her Nala after the lioness from Disney’s The Lion King.
From there, their Instagram and YouTube channels went viral. In 2018 Nala and Dean continued their cycling journey across Europe and documented it for the world to see. 2020 was a slower year for the duo, with them spending much of the pandemic in Hungary. The two were able to return to Dean’s native Scotland in the United Kingdom for a brief time, but are now spending the rest of the pandemic in Gmunden, Austria. Expect to see a lot of Nala and Dean Austrian content, while they wait for borders to reopen and to resume their journey.
