The main sites of Thessaloniki are the White Tower—which provides a beautiful view of the city—the Archaeological Museum of the city, the Museum of Folklore, and the Church of Aya Sophia.
It is recommended to start the day at the Heptapyrgion fortress in the Turkish Quarter. From the fortress, which is located on top of a hill, you can enjoy a view of the whole city, and of course the Aegean Sea.
From there you can continue to the church of Ios Dimitrios, visit the colorful Modiano market, the white tower, and the promenade around it, and take a stroll in Aristotel Square.
Finish the day at a local tavern, where you can enjoy good wine and excellent local food.
