Although it’s nice to have a car and drive around from point A to point B, you don’t always need one. But we’ll even take things a step further and say that there are certain cities where it’s even more of an inconvenience to have a car—and much more enjoyable to get around without one. Here are three cities that you can travel to where you absolutely don’t need a car.

New York City

We’ll start with the obvious—New York City. With one of the most famous and efficient subway systems in the entire world, you really don’t need a car. Add to that the fact that parking in Manhattan can be an absolute nightmare, and there’s really no reason to get one.

Vienna

Many European cities actually have incredible train systems, and Vienna is one of them. You can get to most of the important places in Vienna pretty quickly by simply hopping on the train, and the experience will be more than enjoyable.

Barcelona

Although Barcelona is known to be a beautiful city with unique European architecture, it actually holds a lot of similarities to New York City as far as its Subway goes. Its train network system is super quick and efficient, making a car truly unnecessary if you’re trying to get around in this city.
