Thomas Edison Mansion, West Orange

The legendary inventor Thomas Edison lived and worked in West Orange, New Jersey. It was here that he created his most important devices, including the motion picture camera and alkaline storage battery. Edison’s historic mansion and his laboratories are preserved as a national park site.

Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area

There is no better place for a relaxing hike than the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area, a stretch of the Delaware River on the New Jersey and Pennsylvania border. This 70,000-acre park has more than 150 miles of trails, a few large waterfalls, and three river beaches.

Old Victorian Cape May

During the 18th and 19th century Cape May enjoyed its heyday as a fashionable resort town. It was so popular that six U.S. Presidents had summer homes there. Visiting Cape May today is like stepping back in time, with its beautiful Victorian architecture and the famous Cape May Point Lighthouse.

Art lovers shouldn’t miss the incredible Grounds for Sculpture, a 42-acre museum and sculpture park in Hamilton. In addition to the art exhibits, the park itself is lovely; landscaped with lush trees and flowerbeds.
