4 Museums You Should Visit While in Prague, Czech Republic

It is hard to set your priorities straight in a city like Prague, Czech Republic. There’s so much to see and experience that it’s easy to get lost while trying to do it all. This is especially the case if you decide to tour Prague museums. There are at least 78 museums in Prague, and even trying to cover only the major ones would see you spend your entire vacation going from one museum to another. So instead, choose your battles wisely and choose a few you will give your full attention to. Preferably some of the ones listed below.

Franz Kafka Museum

The museum is dedicated to legendary Czech writer Franz Kafka and features exhibitions on his life and work. As a bonus, you’ll also be able to check out the infamous David Cerny’s sculpture “Piss,” which is located just outside the museum.

Museum of Communism

If you ever wanted to learn more about communism and its ideas and shortcomings, this is the place. The Museum of Communism houses an impressive collection of artifacts, memorabilia, and archival footage from the communist era in the Czech Republic while also featuring exhibitions dedicated to communist regimes in other countries.

Jewish Museum

Dedicated to the Jewish heritage of this country, the Jewish Museum is one of the most visited museums in Prague. It is comprised of six different buildings, which together serve as a home to one of the largest collections of Jewish ceremonial art items in the world.

National Museum

Since you are already visiting Prague and Czech Republic, you are probably interested in learning more about them. One of the best ways to do so is by visiting the National Museum and checking out some of its natural, scientific, or historical collections.
