Gibraltar Airport on the little island of Gibraltar is not unusual, except for the fact that the tarmac runs right through its busiest road.

When a plane takes off or lands, crossing gates hold back the cars. The planes usually stop the traffic for only about 10 minutes but sometimes the delay can be for as long as an hour or two.

At Denver International Airport, Colorado you are greeted by a 35-foot bronco with red eyes. The airport contains a collection of bizarre art that’s linked to alien and apocalyptic conspiracies and underground tunnels are believed to exist under the airport.

At Barra Airport in Scotland, the runway is covered once a day by the high tides and flights have to be scheduled around this. This tiny island airport caters for about 10,000 passengers a year.

Courchevel International Airport, located at a ski resort in the French Alps, has one of the shortest but highest runways in the world. Navigation is so difficult that pilots need special certification to handle the approach through mountains and valleys, land on the steeply sloped tarmac and fly out again.

Bangalore International Airport is a drawcard if you are interested in the paranormal. A woman in a white sari has been seen in various spots at the airport. Paranormal investigators using infrared lights have detected ‘negative energy’ at the airport.
