The colorful Kerala lies in the south of India and although it is not discussed as much as the likes of Goa and India’s capital, it has some amazing things to offer, particularly for nature lovers. Here are some of our favorites.
Kollam
The colors in Kollam will take your breath away. The scenery is full of vibrant blues and greens so bright that photoshop could only detract from its beauty. The best way to experience Kollam is by canoe.
Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary
If you are a lover of nature and birds, this gorgeous sanctuary is a must on your Kerala travels. Between November and February, you can watch hundreds of rare birds migrate back home.
Athirapally Falls
Considered to the Niagara Falls of India, these 55 km waterfalls are easily accessible by bus. The falls are extremely powerful and completely mesmerizing.
Eravikulam National Park
The national park offers some of the best hikes you will take on in your lifetime. We can’t even begin to explain the views, so here is a picture.
Thekkady
The spice plantations in Kerala are famous. As well as being a great place to take in nature, Thekkady offers visitors the chance to taste some authentic Indian spices. Oh yeah.. and you might spot some elephants too.
