7 Family-Friendly Activities On Toronto Island

Toronto Island may be a five-minute boat ride from the Big Six, but it’s the perfect place to escape the hustle and bustle of city life. Here are some of the great activities the island has to offer.

Explore The Island By Quadricycle

For less than $20CAD, you can hire a quadricycle with your partner and explore the island. It’s a quick way to get to the northern part of the island, where you can enjoy stunning views of the city.

Go For A Swim

Toronto Island wouldn’t be a true island if it didn’t have a beach. Visitors can jump in Lake Ontario, and if you’re feeling daring, there’s a nudist beach too. This is not so family-friendly though!

Ride The Log Flume

Toronto Island contains Centerville theme park. It’s a family-friendly park with plenty of fun attractions. Our personal favorite is the log flume.

Rent A Kayak

If you’re feeling up for it, you can rent a kayak and explore the island on water. Prices are affordable, and you’ll get to see great views of both the island and the city.

Get Lost In A Maze

The center island contains a hedge maze. It may look small from the outside but there are far more twist and turns than you would think. You have been warned.

Admire The Flower Gardens

There are some beautiful gardens on the island. Across from Centerville is a beautiful patch of flowers which is permanently inhabited by colorful butterflies.

Pet Some Animals

The island boasts a free entrance farm where visitors can pet the animals and at certain times, you can feed them too.
