A huge landslide devastated the village of Attabad in Hunza Valley, Pakistan nearly 10 years ago. 20 people died and 26 homes were destroyed initially, but the destruction continued for the next several months. The aftermath was unexpected — the country ended up having a new lake that they called Attabad lake. It was formed as the landslide dammed the Hunza River.

“Attabad lake is a perfect spot to capture some of the most amazing portraits. If you are a nature-loving person then you will love the Attabad lake. There are a couple of restaurants at the roadside to enjoy a meal and a cup of tea. You can also rent a boat to take a ride in the lake,” we read on the website Road to Hunza.

It may sound unbelievable, but Attabad lake is today one of the biggest tourist attractions in Pakistan. Would you like to visit it one day?
