A Pair of High School Sweethearts is Planning to Visit Every Country in the World

A Pennsylvania couple is embarking on a global tour, all for a heartwarming reason.

We are the last people who need motivation to travel, but we must admit that Emily and Hudson Crider may have the best incentive of all. Hudson’s father passed away suddenly from a heart attack 8 years ago and the high school sweethearts are trekking across the world in his memory.

“[His death] was just a reminder to us that we’re literally not guaranteed tomorrow and to make the most of the time we have together,” the 30-year-old said. “So we decided the next year that it was time to use whatever we had saved to start traveling.”

The pair’s adventures began in 2017 with a 16-year-old RV that they used to visit all 50 states in the US. Since then, their adventures have gone international.

The plan is to reach all 195 by summer 2024. With 112 countries down, they’re doing rather well.

The Criders have been to every continent except Antarctica, and count Thailand, Indonesia, England, Egypt, Zambia, and Guatemala amongst the stamps in their passports. The married couple has also checked off six of the Seven Wonders of the World.

To make their ambitions a reality, the partners utilize Booking.com to find accommodation and Google flights to find the cheapest airfare.
