There are countless things you can do on a plane—which is good, because plane rides are sometimes up to four, six, ten, and even 12 hours long! Without numerous different activities offered to you, most people would lose their minds while traveling in a tube of steel thousands of miles in the air. But out of all the things you can do on a plane, we’re here to argue that there’s one thing that’s better than the rest. In our opinion, riding a plane is an excellent opportunity to do some good old-fashioned reading.

For the Young Crowd

If you’re from an older generation, you’re probably thinking to yourself that you read on planes all the time. We don’t mean to generalize, but this article is really geared toward the younger crowd, because so many people in the younger generation are averse to reading. With so many different forms of entertainment at their disposal, they don’t see the point.

Away From The Distractions

Netflix, podcasts, YouTube channels, TikTok reels, the list goes on and on. There are so many distractions for young kids today that reading doesn’t seem worthwhile. But a plane ride is a great opportunity to throw all of that stuff away and sit down with a good book. Technically you can still watch movies on planes, but we all know how bad the sound is, and it’s never the same. Instead, utilize this opportunity to read that book you’ve been meaning to for so long!
