Armenia might be one of the most underrated countries in the world. Regardless of that, we are here to tell you why Armenia should be on your travel list.

In the past, Armenia was a part of the Ottoman Empire — and a very big part at that — and it was celebrated for its natural beauty since ancient times. Here you will find never-ending green hills, majestic snow-covered mountain peaks and clear-as-tear lakes, and enjoy the warm hospitality of the locals.

If nothing else, you should visit Armenia for the food. This country is really proud of its local fruits and vegetables and that really shows in their versatile cuisine. Even the simplest things like dolma (minced meat wrapped in cabbage leaves) taste different when they are homemade with love and fresh.

The capital of Armenia, Yerevan, dates back to the 8th century BC. It was conquered and destroyed many times, but each time it landed back on its feet, stronger and richer.

Today Yerevan is a modern capital city with everything you might expect. It hosts huge modern buildings, fancy restaurants and shopping malls, but also plenty of historical sites, cathedrals and museums, which show the visitor the deep cultural heritage of Armenia.
