Be Weary Of This When Booking Cheap Flights

We’ve all experienced it at some point. We get all excited to book a trip, only to learn that flights are looking particularly expensive. Eventually, we may stumble across one flight that looks much cheaper than the others—and we immediately book it without question. But is this really the best move? Sometimes it is, but quite often it’s actually not a great idea, and here’s why.

Hidden Fees

You have no idea how many hidden fees can be sneaked into a ticket without you realizing it. Sure, your cheaper ticket may seem $150 less. But soon you realize that this because you’re paying for a cheaper service, and this cheaper service requires you to pay extra for luggage—which, of course, is something you want. So perhaps you pay an extra $50 for luggage, and then of course you pay another $20 to make sure you don’t get a middle seat. These are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to hidden fees.

The Better Option

So when you take all of these hidden fees into consideration, is this flight really the best option. After the fees, the price really isn’t that much less than the more expensive flight—and that more expensive flight is non-stop, has free luggage, and perhaps other benefits. This is obviously an imaginary scenario we’ve concocted, but it’s not so far off from the truth in many cases. So make sure you do your research before booking a “cheap” flight!
