Some countries are known for their mountains, some are known for their deserts, and some are known for their forests. Israel happens to have all three, but it’s the country’s beaches that we love most. For fun in the sun, Tel Aviv beaches are best, but if a peaceful afternoon is what you’re after, you’ll want to head further north. Whichever beach you go to, you’re sure to find plenty of sand, shells, and clear blue water. Here are some of our favorite beaches to visit whenever we’re in the land of milk and honey.
Hilton Beach
The beach by the Hilton hotel is one of the most popular in Tel Aviv and for good reason. Its proximity to the city makes it the perfect place to relax and have fun without the need to venture too far outside of the city.
Apollonia National Park
Located on the coast of the city of Herzliya, Apollonia is a picturesque beach perfect for anyone who can really appreciate the beauty of their surroundings. The park is also home to a historic Roman villa and fortress.
Habonim Beach and Nature Reserve
Look up the word “serenity” in the dictionary and you’ll see a picture of this beach located just south of Haifa. We’re kidding, of course, but Habonim is definitely one of the most beautiful spots in the country.
