Everyone you know has probably heard of these places. They’re the places that captivate our minds, and drive our imagination crazy at the mere thought of finding them! So, let’s look at some of these places and how you can put your mind at ease.
El Dorado
Of course this is first on the list! El Dorado is the supposed “City of Gold” deep in the Amazon rainforest. It started off as a legend based on Lake Guatavita, so if you want to go look for it, the only place remotely connected to the legend is now in Colombia – and gold still lines its floor!
The Eye Of The Sahara
The Eye of the Sahara is a mysterious structure in Mauritania that has been suggested as one of the potential spots for the mysterious Atlantis. Of course, we now know that it has nothing to do with ancient magical civilizations and everything to do with geology, but it’s still a very cool place to visit!
Transylvania
This may be the most easily accessible place on this list, as it’s in Romania and there are roads throughout the region, but don’t underestimate this trek – there’s a reason Transylvania was named as the home to the most famous vampire in the world – Count Dracula!
