One of our favorite ways to get outside and move our bodies is by going for bike rides, especially now that the weather is a bit cooler and we can do it more comfortably. New England is full of parks and trails that are perfect for bikers of all levels, and many of them now have the added bonus of offering gorgeous views of the changing leaves. Whether you’re already an avid biker or just looking for a fun way to spend some time outside before it gets too cold, you’re sure to have a good time at any of these New England spots.

Province Lands Bike Trail, Cape Cod

This trail located on the northernmost point of Cape Cod, Massachusetts covers a 5.45-mile loop and has three optional spurs spanning from .25 to 1.1 miles. The trail itself winds through forests, sand dunes, and even cranberry bogs, so while it is picturesque, it’s also rather challenging and only recommended for bikers with some experience.

Stowe Recreation Path

Vermont has no shortage of bike trails of all levels, but when we’re looking for an easier ride, we love this 5.5-mile path ending in the town of Stowe, Vermont. It follows a river and includes views that really show off the beauty of the state.

The Eastern Trail, Maine

This trail spans over 65 miles starting in Kittery at the New Hampshire border and ending in the town of South Portland on the coast. Overall, the trail is considered moderately challenging, though some parts of it are flat and easy to bike on.
