Most people visiting Panama are there for its beautiful beaches and unspoiled nature, but there’s much more to this country than meets the eye. Its capital Panama City is home to many amazing landmarks you can’t find anywhere else in the world, but none of them compares to Biomuseo.

As its name suggests, this museum is dedicated to celebrating the biodiversity of Panama, and it has a unique way of doing it. It’s been around since 2014, and its main goal is to explore the natural history of Panama and its impact on the rest of the world.

One of the most interesting features of this museum is its colorful and quirky exterior. It was designed by the famed architect Frank Gehry and its vibrant multi-panel roof is reminiscent of the brightly colored architecture of the Caribbean homes.

Biomuseo covers 4,000 square meters on Causeway Islands, located in close proximity to Panama City. Its permanent collection is divided into eight galleries, while the rest of the space is reserved for temporary exhibits, a garden, a gift and coffee shop. If you want to check out Biemuseo while in Panam, make sure to carefully plan your visit because its doors are only open on Sundays and Saturdays between 1 pm and 5 pm.
