From salt flats and saline lakes to stunning snow-caped mountains, Bolivia is home to countless natural wonders that you can explore during your visit. Some of them come in the shape of beautiful valleys, and here are three that you shouldn’t miss for the world while in this country.

Valle de la Luna

Valle de la Luna aka Moon Valley is located in close proximity to La Paz, and it’s one of the best day-trip destinations to visit from the Bolivian capital. Its clay and sandstone spires, formed by centuries of erosion, will leave you in awe because they’re pretty reminiscent of the lunar surface.

Valle de las Animas

Another stunning valley located near La Paz, Valley of the Souls is pretty similar to the previous valley at the first glance. The needle-like formations you’ll find here reminded its past visitors of petrified spirits and that’s how this valley got its spooky name.

Palca Canyon

Bolivia’s valleys are pretty easy to visit thanks to their close proximity to La Paz. If you’re in the mood for a road trip, finish your visit to the previous two valleys by checking out Palca Canyon. It will win you over with its imposing rock towers and amazing views of the Illimani Mountains.
