Happy Pride Month! Come June, countries around the world turn colorful as they embrace the LGBTQ+ community and host events in their honor. June was chosen to mark the historic Stonewall riots of June 1969, but it also happens to be mid-summer in most places, making it a fabulous time to explore.

Spain

Barcelona and Madrid are known for their vibrant LGBTQ+ culture, with Pride parades held in both cities. Aside from attending the colorful marches, you can paint the night red in numerous dance bars. Check out the Chueca neighborhood in the Spanish capital.

Israel

Israel is the only country in the Middle East to celebrate Pride. Rainbow flags can be seen hanging outside numerous store and restaurants, particularly in Tel Aviv which is one of the most LGBTQ+-friendly cities in the world. Thousands flock each year to attend the massive Pride Parade along the Tel Aviv promenade, as well as explore Israel’s historical sites.

Sweden

Sweden has a long-standing reputation for being LGBTQ-friendly, making it an excellent location to visit during the festivities. The capital plays host to Stockholm Pride, and don’t miss out on a trip to the ABBA Museum!
