Most people think of Navy Pier, Cloud Gate, and deep-dish pizza when someone mentions Chicago, but there’s so much more that this city has to offer—especially to nature lovers. Stunning parks are scattered all around Illinois’ biggest metropolis, and here are three that you shouldn’t miss during your visit.

Millennium Park

Millennium Park is a part of the larger Grant Park complex, and it’s one of Chicago’s main attractions. In addition to being home to many green spaces, this park is home to such attractions as Cloud Gate, Crown Fountain, and Jay Pritzker Pavilion, and it hosts many events and festivals throughout the year. It’s also home to the famous bean!

Lincoln Park

Lincoln Park stretches for seven miles, and it’s Chicago’s largest public park. It’s located along the shores of Lake Michigan, and it offers a wide range of recreational facilities to visitors—from baseball fields and basketball courts to skate park and golf courses—in addition to being home to Lincoln Park Zoo.

Jackson Park

If you find yourself on the South Side of Chicago, Jackson Park is one of the attractions that you shouldn’t miss. It extends along Lake Michigan, offering gardens, boat harbors, playing fields, and many recreational facilities, but the Museum of Science and Industry remains one of its most notable attractions.
