Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo are the first cities that come to mind when someone mentions Brazil, but have you ever heard of Curitiba? The capital of the Brazilian state of Paraná deserves a spot on your bucket list, and its beautiful parks happen to be one of its strongest suits.
Tanguá Park
Built on the premises of an old quarry, Tanguá is one of Curitiba’s most specious and popular parks, and it offers two lakes, a waterfall, and gardens filled with plants and flowers.
Bosque Alemão
Built in honor of the German immigrants who settled in Curitiba, this park features structures inspired by the fairy tales about Hansel and Gretel, and a copy of a presbyterian church in the Gothic style.
Passeio Público
The city’s oldest park covers 17 acres of land, covered with hiking and biking trails and a lake.
Tingui Park
If we had to pick the most unique park in this Brazilian city, we’d have to go with this one. In addition to featuring hiking trails, lakes, and bridges, Tingui also has a Ukrainian church replica and craft shop on the premises.
