One of the most beautiful and sought-after hotspot destinations in the entire world is Iceland. In addition to its fancy name, the country is home to some of the most jaw-dropping scenic views in the entire world, to say nothing about its notable attractions. From gorgeous ice caves to steaming hot spring lagoons, visiting Iceland is truly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. But here’s the thing—you better prepare yourself for the cold.

It’ll Hit You Hard

It’s one thing to talk about the cold in theory, and say to yourself that everything will be fine. Sure, everything will be fine, but the shockingly low temperature will hit you in a way that you didn’t expect—and you may even wonder why you visited Iceland in the first place. You’ll find saying phrases such as, “I thought vacations were supposed to be calm and relaxing.” The cold will become a talking point amongst your friends, and you should be ready for it.

But That’s Fine

You can still enjoy your trip to the fullest. As long as you’re aware that the cold isn’t something you can just ignore—and that you must dress accordingly—you’ll be happy with the way things go. Know deep down in your heart that the experience isn’t catered towards swimming, sunbathing or tanning—and you’ll have the time of your life!
