Santiago, the capital and largest city of Chile, is sometimes referred to as “the city of the island hills” and its worthy of this nickname. Its cityscape is shaped by famous hills that surround it and offer the most amazing views of the city that you could possibly ask for.

San Cristóbal Hill

San Cristóbal Hill offers some of the best panoramic views in all of Santiago, and it’s the city’s no. 1 tourist attraction. In addition to being a popular hiking spot, this landmark is home to the statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary and it offers access to the National Zoo of Chile.

Santa Lucía Hill

15 million years ago, there was a volcano on the spot of Santa Lucía Hill, but this is now one of Santiago’s most charming attractions. If its beautiful views and landscaped park aren’t impressive enough for you, ornate facades, fountains, and stairways will win you over.

Renca Hill

Cerro Renca may not be as popular as the previous two hills, but it’s just as impressive. Located 905 meters above sea level, this hill is Santiago’s highest point and it’s especially popular with passionate hikers who want to get the best possible view of the city.
