A visit to Osaka is incomplete if you don’t take some time to explore its rich food culture. This is one of the best places in the world to experience Japanese cuisine first-hand. Amazing street food joints, restaurants, and cafés are scattered all around Osaka, but if you don’t feel like wandering around, these three dining districts are a good place to start.

Dotonbori

Safely tucked away near the Namba Station, Dotonbori is the first place that comes to mind when someone mentions dining in Osaka. Historically a theater district, Dotonbori grew into one of Osaka’s most popular nightlife and entertainment areas, filled with large illuminated. It’s especially popular with food lovers because countless local restaurants line its streets.

Kitashinchi

Located in close proximity to the Osaka Station, Kitashinchi is one of the city’s busiest dining and entertainment districts. Referred to as “the Ginza of Osaka”, this district offers many high-end bars, clubs, and small restaurants for travelers with a deeper pocket.

Shinsekai

Shinsekai opened its doors in 1912 and grew into one of Osaka’s most significant historical shopping districts. It was modeled after New York’s Coney Island, with a huge amusement park on its premises, but it remains a popular dining spot with many eateries offering local street foods on its grounds.
