Most travelers arrive a few hours early for their flights but usually aren’t prone to arriving early for their bus rides. Even if you think being late is not a problem because busses rarely run on time, there are several benefits you can reap from arriving early for your bus rides.

Comfortable Ride

Bus rides aren’t generally known as a comfortable travel option, but you can make them a little bit better by getting there early. This gives you just enough time to get cozy and get everything you need out of your bag before placing it in the overhead bin without disturbing anyone.

Picking a Good Seat

Some bus companies will assign you a seat as soon as you buy your ticket, but that’s not the case with all of them. If the company you’re traveling with has a “first come, first served” policy, make sure to be there at least 15 minutes before the departure time to pick the seat that works for you.

Showing Respect

Even if you arrive just a minute late, your tardiness can disrupt the ride for the bus driver and other passengers. It takes extra time to place your bags inside the luggage compartment and find a free seat, so it’s a sign of respect to arrive early, thus preventing any potential delays.
