The Land Down Under has more than one amazing travel option for you, but today, we are going to speak about one of its true beauties, Heron Island.

Just 45 miles off the coast of Queensland, at the southern end of the Great Barrier Reef, this island is a true oasis for exotic animals and birds. This is one of those places where you can go for a casual walk and come across beaches full of sea turtles. And if you find yourself here from November to February, you can even see the whales in the distance.

The island is tiny, so you will probably sleep in the Heron Island Resort. They offer cozy, small, wooden huts near the beach that usually overlook the sea. There are many cool outdoor activites to be found here – besides the pleasure of being on the beach surrounded by small turtles, you can join professional diving classes and underwater shooting classes.

Because of the size of the island there are never too many people at the same time, so this is the perfect place to relax and forget about the rest of the world.
