We understand what it’s like to be alone in a beautiful, faraway place and wish someone was there to snap your picture. Traveling solo is a great way to push yourself out of your comfort zone, learn, and grow, but it can also have its drawbacks. When you want to create memories but don’t have anyone to snap the shutter button, it’s natural to feel a bit frustrated. Fortunately, you’ve got options. Here are a few tips and tricks that we’ve learned along the way for getting the perfect shot.

Bring a Tripod & Remote

If you’re shooting with a camera, there are plenty of Bluetooth remote options available that you can use to control the camera while you pose within the frame. If you prefer to take photos with your phone, use a timer or voice control to get the shot. If the idea of setting up a tripod in a crowded place makes you uncomfortable, consider going early in the morning before the crowds are at their peak. The light from the sun is often better before it rises too high as well.

Ask Someone!

It may feel a little uncomfortable, but most people are perfectly happy to take a picture for someone if asked nicely! Especially if they’re also traveling. If you have a professional camera, see if you can find someone who also has one. It’s more likely that they’ll know how to use yours correctly to help you create picture-perfect memories.
