For people who love travel, it’s been a strange year and a half of trying to navigate a world in which their favorite hobby is suddenly off-limits or can only be done under confusing limitations. Now, well into the pandemic and widespread use of the vaccine, the return of normal travel feels tantalizingly close, but can we just go back to our old travel bucket lists as though everything is normal again? Maybe, instead, we need to reevaluate our approach to travel as well as our travel priorities this upcoming year.

Because after a year and a half off of travel, maybe what you miss most is being able to eat foreign foods and taste the fruits of other cultures, meaning that your next trip will be focused on your taste buds first and foremost.

Or maybe you simply miss staying in a hotel, enjoying those crisp white sheets, the strange TV channels, and old-school phones, and your first travel priority this year will be checking into a nice hotel.

Or maybe you simply yearn for the feeling of being alone, unbound, and lost in a new airport, train terminal, or city, with nothing but possibilities ahead of you, making it so that your first goal when you travel this year is to do it alone.

Whatever it may be, take the time to think… How has this pandemic changed our travel priorities?
