Medellin is Full of Beautiful Parks and Gardens

Medellin, Colombia is known as the City of Eternal Spring for its abundance of parks and green spaces. In fact, it’s one of the greenest cities in the entire country. Here are a few of the gardens and parks to explore in Medellin.

Jardin Botanico

Medellin’s Botanical Gardens are exceptionally beautiful. Located at the heart of the city, It is particularly known for the large population of wild iguanas. You can take a picnic by the central lake, or just wander around enjoying the gardens, trees, and birds.

Arvi Park

The giant Arvi Park is more of a National Park than a city park but it’s easily accessible via the Medellin Metrocable cable-car system. Because of its size and richness, this park is worth taking a whole day to explore.

Parque de los Pies Descalzos

The name of this park translates as “Barefoot Park”, and it is precisely what the park is all about. When you enter the park, you have to take your shoes off and enjoy the feeling of sand beneath your feet. It is conveniently located right by the El Centro neighborhood.

Parque El Salado

A bit further out of town, but it’s worth the trip. It’s a beautifully landscaped park with a river, in which you can swim. You may even spot some wild monkeys!
