When you’re trying to think of a relaxing wellness destination, Ibiza is not exactly the first thing that comes to mind. In fact, it’s probably one of the last; the island is famous for being one of the wildest party destinations in Europe. So it may come as a surprise that Ibiza has a quieter, more laid-back side to it.

The majority of the White Isle, in fact, can provide a calm and relaxing retreat from hectic everyday life. The wild coastal area of Cala Xuclar, for example, offers the bluest sea you have ever seen, surrounded by lush pine trees. Cala d’Hort is another well-known quiet retreat. Hidden away in a National Park, this beach kept its natural beauty and avoided being covered in huge hotels and noisy bars.

If you really want to get away from the crowds and immerse yourself in nature, venture into the countryside in the inner part of Ibiza. You can hike up to the highest point of the island to see the stunning view of the Salinas salt flats. A visit to the Old Town, or Dalt Vila, will give you an idea of what Ibiza used to be like; filled with cobbled streets and narrow alleys which all lead to the fortress which towers over the city.

As you see, the party scene is only a small part of this rich and beautiful island. Ibiza can be a lovely refuge for those who know where to go.
