Pack These Goodies for Your Next Beach Picnic

The beach is the type of place where you could spend all day. And that requires food! Rather than hunting for something to eat when hunger strikes, prepare ahead of time and pack a picnic. These are our favorite items to include. 

Salads

Nothing says summer quite like salad. It is also a chance to get creative while getting in your vitamins and loading up on flavor. Throw in some chicken or cheese for protein, grains or pasta to keep you full, and don’t forget to pack a couple of forks.

Cheese and Crackers

If you want to be a bit fancy while beaching, make a little charcuterie board with all the trimmings. We’re talking different cheeses, crackers, cold meats, and olives. It’s an excellent idea for a date. 

Fresh Fruit

Fruit is a win, especially if you have little kids joining your sand party. They are sweet and easy to eat, and also provide hydration on a hot day. Orange segments are always a win, as are berries, grapes, and watermelon. It is easiest to pre-cut the fruit at home, but bring along a knife just in case. 

Snacks

What would a picnic be without snacks?! Get your salt intake with chips, pretzels, and popcorn; while cookies and granola bars should satisfy those with a sweet tooth. 

Drinks

If you’re going to the beach, it probably means that the weather is hot. It goes without saying that you should keep yourself hydrated. Keep a bottle of water on hand, and drink, drink, drink.
