Most people visiting Panama are there to explore the natural beauty that this Central American country has in store. If you’re not sure where to start, a visit to one of its national parks is always a good idea, and here are three that you shouldn’t miss for the world.

Soberanía National Park

Soberanía is one of Panama’s most accessible national parks because it’s located a short ride away from Panama City. The streams of the Chagres River running through the park are inhabited by monkeys, jaguars, birds, and many more animals. The park is especially popular with birdwatchers, with 525 species found on its grounds.

Coiba National Park

If you’re looking for a national park where you can sit back, relax, and enjoy some amazing beaches, Coiba National Park will be your cup of tea. It’s part of the largest island in Central America, and it encompasses everything from forests and mangroves to beaches and coral reefs.

Volcán Barú National Park

Breathtaking volcanoes are scattered all around Panama, but none of them comes even close to Barú. This active stratovolcano also happens to be the tallest mountain in Panama, and it’s a part of a national park that covers 35,400 acres. In addition to being popular with volcano hunters, it’s also a huge hit with birdwatchers, with 250 species of birds on its grounds.
