The age of social media has changed the way that many people look at travel and added new priorities that weren’t so prevalent before. Where we once would have taken photos solely for our own future recollection, we now feel the need to leave our destinations with at least a few social media-worthy pics. Some places are more suited to being photographed than others; for instance, it’s harder to get the perfect shot in a crowded city than many more remote locations. Here are some spots almost guaranteed to leave you with pictures perfect for the Gram.

Rainbow Mountain, Peru

This mountain located in the Cusco region is actually called Montaña de Siete Colores in Spanish, which literally translates to “Mountain of Seven Colors.” The colored stripes are the result of minerals in the ground reacting with water over time.

Whitehaven Beach, Australia

Whitehaven Beach is located on Whitsunday Island off the coast of Australia and is one of the world’s cleanest and most pristine beaches. You won’t need to enhance the colors on any pictures taken here—the water is clear blue enough on its own.

Vatnajökull, Iceland

Explore ice caves, see volcanoes, and take in the sounds of several waterfalls at the Vatnajökull National Park in southeast Iceland. The park is filled with countless breathtaking sites and sounds and actually covers about 8% of Iceland geographically.
