Bachelorette parties can be tricky to plan, especially if you are flying to an exotic destination. There is a lot to organize and a lot of communication involved. Planning any party can be challenging, so it’s especially tough when dealing with different bridesmaids. Here’s some important information to remember.

Timing

There is no hard rule on when to throw the party—usually, a month before is an excellent place to start. You want to ensure it is close enough to the big day so the bride won’t feel an anti-climax before the big day arrives, but you also want it to be far enough in advance that the bride isn’t stressing about her big day and can fully enjoy the bachelorette. If you’re flying somewhere exotic, thinking about the weather at your chosen destination helps, too.

Set a Guest List

Many opt to throw a surprise bachelorette, but you probably need to run the guest list by the bride. This party is not about who you may want, but who the bride-to-be wants to celebrate with. Although, if the bride-to-be has a future sister-in-law, this is an excellent time to include them too. If you’re going abroad, remember that each guest will have to pay for flights, too.

Make it about the bride

Over the years, many have been caught up with the idea of what a bachelorette is supposed to be—with the naughty novelty straws and club-hopping all night. If that’s what the bride wants, go her! However, think about your friend’s personality and plan something you know she will love doing. After all, it’s all about celebrating her love.
