If you’re wondering how Medellín got its nickname “the city of the eternal spring”, a stroll through its beautiful parks will give you all the answers you’re looking for. Colombia’s second-largest city is home to quite a few, and here are three that you should put on your travel itinerary.

Botero Plaza

If you have a soft spot for sculpture parks, Botero Plaza will leave you speechless. It covers 7,000 square meters near the Museum of Antioquia and it’s one of Medellín’s most popular tourist attractions. While strolling through the park, you’ll get to discover 23 sculptures created by the Colombian artist Fernando Botero.

Barefoot Park

Parque de Los Pies Descalzos is better known by its popular nickname Barefoot Park. It became a huge hit with people looking for a Zen experience in Medellín because it encourages visitors to ditch their shoes and truly become one with nature.

Arvi Park

Safely tucked away on the slopes of Aburrá Valley, Arvi Park is technically an ecological nature preserve located a short ride from Medellín. It’s perfect for people who really want to immerse themselves in nature because it offers walking trails, picnic tables, gondola rides, and a wide range of adventure sports.
