Could you imagine going on a vacation outside of this planet? Space Perspective is an “off-world travel company” that’s currently in the lead when it comes to space tourism. It seems like this exciting idea could soon turn into reality.
For now, space travel is still something out of sci-fi movies. However, Space Perspective is working on getting the first passengers to join an adventurous journey as early as 2025. The journey would include going 1/3 of the way to space in their Spaceship Neptune. What does this mean? It means that they plan to take the passengers 19 miles above the earth for a hefty ticket price.
For $125,000, the lucky passengers would get to ride in a huge “space balloon” that features a pressurized capsule with panorama windows. It can take eight passengers plus a pilot at once. The journey would last six hours and leave from NASA Kennedy Space Center in Florida before sunrise.
“We’re committed to fundamentally changing the way people have access to space – both to perform much-needed research to benefit life on Earth and to affect how we view and connect with our planet,” Budget Travel quoted space entrepreneur Jane Poynter.
The future may be closer than we think!
