Studio Ghibli Theme Park in Japan to Open in 2022

With the pandemic ruining many events in the world, people have been wondering if the first Studio Ghibli theme park in Japan will open in 2022 as scheduled or if it’s going to be postponed. The good news is that the theme park opening is still planned for Fall 2022, as reported by Sora News 24. The outlet quoted the governor of Aichi prefecture, Hideaki Omura, who told that they “are still on track and are planning to open the park in Fall 2022.”

The park’s location will include the former site of the 2005 World Expo. ”The 2005 expo’s theme of ‘love’ has also been portrayed in Studio Ghibli’s films consistently so we can inherit that philosophy. We aim to make the facility a world-class park and hope many people will visit here,” Omura said.

The amazing Studio Ghibli attraction will be located near Nagoya, in the Aichi prefecture. It will feature five zones: Whisper of the Heart, Spirited Away, and My Neighbour Totoro, Witch Valley, and Mononoke Village. They are all based on Studio Ghibli movies popular not only in Japan, but around the world.
