Newcastle is one of the most captivating cities that the Australian state of New South Wales has in store. Stunning coastline and magnificent beaches are its strongest suit, and here are some of the most amazing beaches that you shouldn’t miss in this harbor city.

Nobbys Beach

Nobbys Beach is one of Newcastle’s crowning jewels, and a visit to this city is incomplete if you don’t check it out. It’s a huge hit with swimmers and surfers, but you’ll also enjoy it if you’re in the mood for a leisurely stroll along the shoreline – and you might even spot local dolphins during your walk!

Newcastle Beach

Located in the very heart of Newcastle, the city’s main beach is a popular spot for all sorts of summer activities. It’s known as one of Australia’s prime surfing locations, but you can also enjoy many other water sports during your visit, or explore countless vibrant cafés, restaurants, and shops in its near proximity.

Merewether Beach

Speaking of Newcastle’s best spots for watersports, Merewether Beach is known as a surfer’s paradise due to its consistent waves and world-class surf breaks. If you’re in the mood to catch some waves while in Australia, this beach is a place to be, and it even hosts Australia’s largest surfing competition Surfest.

If there’s one thing that Australia is probably internationally known for, it’s for having gorgeous beaches. Many of these can be found along the east coast. Here is a guide to five of the most rewarding beaches in eastern Australia.

Wategoes Beach, Byron Bay, NSW

If you are in a relaxed mood and want to spend the afternoon chilling out, then Wategoes beach is for you. Paddle in its sky-blue waters or take a walk up to the bay’s lighthouse for stunning views. You also might bump into the Hemsworth brothers.

Chinamans Beach, Jervis Bay, NSW

Chinamans beach offers breath-taking scenery and is not as busy as other major beaches in the region. Although the water can be quite chilly, the beautiful open horizon where the sea seems to flow up into the sky more than makes up for it.

Noosa Heads, Queensland

Noosa Heads is located in an area known as the Sunshine Coast. Enticing white sands give way to clear blue water on a beach that is only a short walk away from Noosa National Park. For any nature lovers out there, this is the place for you.

Horseshoe Bay, Bermagui, NSW

This is another quiet beach found opposite the sleepy town of Bermagui. Since there are no waves, it is the perfect spot for families who just want to splash around in the soothing waters and build sandcastles.

Bondi Beach, Sydney, NSW

This is probably the most famous beach in Australia. Located in Sydney’s eastern suburb, it is easy to access if you are only passing through the city. There is also the possibility that you might feature on the Australian TV show Bondi Rescue if you are there in the summer season!
