Cozy sweaters, Halloween, and pumpkin spice-flavored everything are all good reasons to be excited about fall, but we’d be lying if we didn’t admit that we’re most excited about the changing leaves!

Once a year, the trees are painted in shades of red, orange, and gold, with everyday looking like a greeting card. Cities immediately look prettier, making it a great excuse to travel and see the fall foliage.

Dozens of factors can affect how early or late the leaves begin to wear their autumn colors (and how quickly they disappear!), but a map exists to ensure you don’t miss out!

Using a complex algorithm that analyzes millions of data points throughout the US, SmokyMountains.com has managed to forecast exactly where—and when—the leaves are changing. Leaf watchers can receive real time foliage reports to plan their spotting trip accordingly.

“In 2013, potential visitors to the Smoky Mountain region began asking us questions about when the leaves would be most brilliant. From these questions, we built the first version of the fall leaf map and have consistently improved it each year,” stated creator and brand founder, David Angotti. “What started as a fun side-project quickly became the most respected nationwide fall leaf map and one of the best fall resources in the country. Now, tens of millions of people use our map each year to plan vacations, weddings, and photography trips.“

Georgia is a beautiful country—rich in culture, food, and wine. A trip to Tbilisi and its surroundings in the fall season offers an experience of landscapes, culture, and food.

It is recommended to ascend to a beautiful observation point from the sculpture of Vakhtang Gorgasali. The area is especially beautiful at night, when all the forts and churches along the river are illuminated with lights of varying colors.

From there, it is highly recommended to visit one of the hot springs in the city—in a Turkish bath style or at the traditional baths.

After enjoying a lovely time at the baths, you can pass through the fashionable Sharden Alley, via Sioni Street, towards Liberty Square. This area is a wonderful option for a night out, as it is full of pubs and restaurants.

On the way, you will meet food stalls—including of course the “Churchella,” a yummy sweet Georgian snack that includes walnuts hung on a string and dipped in grape honey.

The food in Tbilisi, as in the rest of Georgia, is simply excellent. Try one of the local pastries stuffed with Georgian cheese or eggplant wrapped in nuts and pomegranates.

In only about a month from now, the deciduous forests of New England in the United States will begin to undergo a change that will transform them into a show full of spectacular, blazing colors that is one of the most beautiful natural phenomena on earth.

New England is full of beautiful road routes that will showcase the best of the autumn scenery that the area has to offer. Here are three drives that you can go on to see the best of New England’s fall colors!

Maine: Coastal Route 1 (mid-October)

Maine’s Coastal Route 1, which winds along the Atlantic Ocean through old-growth deciduous forests, is spectacular at any time of year. In mid-October, however, during peak fall colors, its trees turn the coastline into a beautiful mix of ocean and the bright warm colors of the fall leaves.

Vermont: Green Mountain Byway (late September or early October)

If you’re looking for a place to see the fall colors a bit earlier, the late September/early October peak of Vermont’s Green Mountain Byway is a great option. This high-altitude route winds through the state’s interior mountainous terrain and mixes in fall colors with quaint small towns.

New Hampshire: Lake Winnipesaukee Loop (mid-October)

A popular summer swimming and boating destination, New Hampshire’s Lake Winnipesaukee is also a hot destination in autumn due to its changing leaves. At its mid-October peak, this loop route around the largest lake in the state is a delight for the senses.

Fall is upon us, which means that the temperatures are dropping and the leaves are changing! If you find yourself traveling in the autumn season, there are definitely some things that you will want to pack in order to make the most out of your journey.

Here are three fall travel must-haves that you will definitely want to have as you go off on adventures during this season.

A Quality Cardigan

Cardigans are so great for traveling and fall. Why? Well, these light to medium sweaters are insanely foldable, which means that they occupy almost zero space in your bag. They’re also easy to carry around and put on at night when the temperatures drop and you want to cut the chill.

A Sensible Scarf

Fall is the beginning of scarf season, and we definitely recommend taking one along with you for your travels at this time of the year. You’ll want to pack one that isn’t too heavy, but that will help keep you warm on a chilly day or at night.

Boots for the Season

Fall can also mean rain, which means that boots that can adapt and respond to the current weather conditions are also a must-take. Waterproof boots that aren’t too warm and allow your feet to breathe are a perfect option to take with you while traveling in autumn.
