Tailgating is one of the most special parts of college football. The gatherings of fans and friends before a Saturday afternoon, evening, or night game to share in the revelry of the atmosphere and the delicious foods that tailgates have to offer is truly magical.

If you’re looking to experience the best of the tailgate scene in the United States, you should visit these three college campuses.

Ole Miss

“The Grove” is the name of the area where Ole Miss fans set up some of the most extravagant and fun tailgating in the country. Thousands of red and blue clad fans join in this tree-lined space to grill, drink, and sing songs about their beloved team in a raucous, fun environment. As a common Ole Miss saying goes, “We may not win every game, but we’ve never lost a party.”

Ohio State

Ohio State is one of the largest universities in the world and has one of the US’s most successful football teams. Its tailgating scene is large and expansive with the star treat on many families’ menus being the “Buckeye,” a chocolate and peanut butter dessert snack that’s rich and tasty.

Tennessee

Tennessee is one of the few places in the country where “sailgating” is possible. Neyland Stadium’s location on the Tennessee River in the heart of Knoxville means that boats full of Volunteer fans park on the river bank and host elaborate food and drink-filled celebrations before Tennessee games.
