New York, the city of dreams, the city that never sleeps, is known for its fashion, Broadway theaters, shopping and food. Speaking about food, let’s talk about this specific item that makes New York even more popular; the Cronuts. Dominique Ansel has blessed New York, and the world, with the mystical Cronut, a croissant-doughnut hybrid. Simply incredible.

Being invented by the French pastry chef Dominique Ansel, of the Dominique Ansel’s bakery in New York, the Cronut has first been through ten different recipes during two months until getting to the perfect result.

A Cronut comes in a round-shape, fried, and with a creamy interior of a doughnut and the delicate layers of a croissant. They are made with a special Cronut dough, similar to the croissant dough but with a few main differences.

How do we get to the perfect Cronut?
Once they are shaped, they get deep-fried in hot oil, then filled with lots of cream, rolled in sugar and finally glazed.

Cronuts are meant to be eaten immediately and the maximum of cronuts one person can buy in this bakery, is 6. It fits perfectly their golden box. One Cronut will cost you $5 and the flavours may change every month.

Crazier than the Cronut itself, is the line outside of the bakery on a (very) early morning. If you want to have one for breakfast, make sure to put your alarm at 5am.
