]]>The many street murals that adorn El Paso are perhaps the city’s most distinguished feature. Of the more than 100 murals in El Paso, the greatest concentration are south of downtown between Paisano Dr and the Border Hwy, and north of Paisano Drive near Douglass Elementary School.
Ysleta del Sur Pueblo is home to the Tigua, a recognized Native American tribe and sovereign nation living in the Ysleta section of El Paso. Despite Spanish influences, the Tigua strive to retain their identity as the oldest identifiable ethnic group in Texas. If you stop by on Wednesday or Saturday you can watch bread being made and even buy a fresh loaf.
This scenic drive follows the southern tip of the Franklin Mountains and the Rio Grande river. There are plenty of benches along the way where you can stop and really take in the spectacular view.
This National Park commemorates the Chamizal Treaty of 1963, which was a peaceful settlement of a century-long border dispute between Mexico and the United States.
