Canada is a spacious country with plenty of amazing nature. The incredible Emerald Lake may be one of the most stunning things you can see there, and there are plenty of reasons for that. Located in Yoho National Park, here’s why it truly deserves its name.

Not in Kansas Anymore

The Emerald Lake gets its color from the stream of fine glacier dust. The glacier dust creates a reflection on the surface of crystal clear waters and the rest is done by light. The lake freezes during the winter months, so if you want to see it in its most magical state, it’s better to visit from June to October.

There are hiking trails that allow visitors to walk around and explore the place. The experience is breathtaking. You will see bald eagles flying freely above you, loons on the surface of the lake, magnificent forests, and fields of wildflowers. It’s also possible to run into a bear or a moose if you go too far.

One of the best experiences here is paddleboarding or canoeing across the lake. It gives you a chance to see the water from up close and to enjoy the scenery from an appropriate distance. You can also rent a boat and go fishing for iridescent rainbow trout.
