Put it down to cuteness, their dungarees, or that silly banana song, but Minions have made an impact. And now, they’re getting a brand new attraction at Universal Studios!
While a Despicable Me Minion Mayhem attraction already exists, the new one will be entitled Illumination’s Villain-Con Minion Blast, and will be based on the storyline from Minions: The Rise of Gru.
Guests will have the chance to experience Villain-Con and see if they have what it takes to become a member of The Vicious 6 supervillain gang while blasting items on a moving walkway. According to Universal, the ride will feature “innovative screen technology, state-of-the-art gaming interactivity, and elaborate physical sets to create a one-of-a-kind, game-based adventure where guests encounter immersive environments, nefarious villains, and tons of mischievous Minions.”
And just in case that is not enough Minion mania for you, the attraction, which opens next summer, will form part of a new Minion Land that is even set to include a Minion Café.
