Houston is one of those cities that have something in store for everyone, including nature lovers who just want to sit back and relax. Public parks in Texas’ largest city are truly top of the line, and here are three that you shouldn’t miss for the world during your visit.

Memorial Park

One of the largest urban parks not just in Texas, but in all of the US, this park covers almost 1,500 acres in Houston’s Memorial neighborhood. You can explore everything from lush gardens and botanical gardens to running trails and golf courses during your visit.

Hermann Park

With an area of 445 acres, Hermann may not be Houston’s largest park, but it’s the most activity-packed. You should consider setting a whole day aside to explore it, since it happens to be home to some of the city’s most popular attractions, including McGovern Lake, Houston Zoo, Japanese Garden, and Houston Museum of Natural Science.

Discovery Green

With an area of 12 acres, Discovery Green seems pretty tiny when compared to the previous two parks, but it’s still worth the visit. It’s best known for the public events that take place on its large performance stage, but you can enjoy its walkways, public art, and Kinder Lake even when they’re not happening.
