India is home to more beautiful cities than we can count, and Kolkata is one of those that certainly aren’t getting as much attention as they deserve. The capital of India’s West Bengal state is home to many stunning spots, including its many beautiful temples.

Belur Math

Belur Math serves as the headquarters of the Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission and its building does a great job fusing elements of Hindu, Islamic, Buddhist, and Christian architecture, symbolizing religious tolerance and harmony.

Kalighat Temple

Another temple dedicated to the Hindu goddess Kali, Kalighat is one of Kolkata’s most sacred institutions. It dates all the way back to the 15th century, but the present-day temple started taking shape around the start of the 19th century.

Dakshineshwar Kali Temple

Safely tucked away on the banks of the Hooghly River, Dakshineshwar Kali Temple is one of Kolkata’s most recognizable attractions. Its nine ornate spheres grace the city’s skyline, and shrines dedicated to different Hindu deities can be found on its premises.

Birla Mandir

One of the main reasons why chain restaurants like McDonald’s have such massive appeal is that their products are consistent at all of their locations; the Big Mac you’d get in a small midwestern town is the same Big Mac you’d get in Times Square, New York City. Outside of the United States, however, is another story, and exactly what McDonald’s offers can vary significantly by country. If you’re a fast food lover planning a trip abroad, read on to learn more about some of the unique offerings available at McDonald’s locations around the world.

Japan

The Japanese take their McDonald’s seriously with the second greatest number of franchise locations after the United States. Menus include a unique fusion of fast food staples, such as Big Macs and Chicken McNuggets, along with traditional Japanese flavors. Think Teriyaki burgers, Shrimp Ebi Filet-O, and edamame as a side dish.

India

About 25% of India’s population of 1.4 billion is estimated to be vegetarian, and this preference is reflected in McDonald’s menus. In fact, McDonald’s in India don’t serve any beef at all, instead offering chicken, fish, and plant-based options created to cater to local palates. For example, the Dosa Masala Burger, a turmeric-spiced mashed potato patty made with fresh peas and topped with  a spicy chutney mayo.

Italy

Italy is renowned for its culinary heritage for a reason, and the country’s McDonald’s are no exception. The majority of offerings are made with authentic Italian ingredients, which tend to be better quality than their American counterparts. Menus also feature several Italian-inspired options, such as the ham and cheese McToast, mozzarella and tomato calzones, and even bite-sized blocks of parmesan cheese.

Visiting India is truly a life-changing experience that offers a kaleidoscope of adventures. However, it’s crucial to approach this diverse country with an open mind and proper preparation, as India can be intense for unprepared travelers. Often people are not aware of other factors India brings other than its stunning temples and tourist sights. Our goal is to prep you so there are no surprises when visiting.

Firstly, India’s sensory overload can be overwhelming. The cacophony of honking horns, the vivid colors of bustling markets, and the array of enticing aromas may leave you exhilarated but also disoriented. Embrace the chaos with an open heart, as this intensity is an integral part of India’s charm.

Cultural differences can also create significant contrasts for visitors. India’s customs, traditions, and social norms may differ drastically from your home country. Research and educate yourself about local customs and etiquettes, which will help you navigate social interactions with respect and understanding. Main thing here is to dress appropriately for any holy sites you will be visiting.

Health precautions are essential, as India’s climate and hygiene standards can be challenging for some travelers. Consult your healthcare provider for necessary vaccinations and carry essential medications. Stick to bottled water and avoid consuming uncooked or street food to prevent health issues.

Furthermore, be mindful of the season and weather conditions. India experiences extreme temperatures and weather patterns. Pack accordingly to stay comfortable throughout your journey.

Lastly, remember that India’s vastness can make travel logistics complex. Plan your itinerary wisely, considering the distances between destinations and the mode of transportation that suits you best.

Despite its intensity, India rewards travelers with incredible experiences and a deeper understanding of the world. With expectations in check and proper preparation, you can embark on a transformative journey, embracing the vibrancy and beauty that India has to offer. Open your heart and mind, let go of preconceptions, and embark on an adventure of a lifetime in this enchanting land.

Looking through travel blogs and guides, it seems like almost every country in the world prides itself on its coffee culture to one degree or another. Whether it be their cafes, their preparation, or even how they grow the beans, coffee really is incredibly important to the culture of countless places around the globe.

All of that said, if coffee isn’t your thing, there are just as many places where tea is considered to be the essential beverage. Some countries take pride in their traditional ways of preparing and serving tea, while others specialize in creating flavorful blends. If you love tea as much as we do, consider planning a trip to one of these tea-rrific locations.

Japan

Japanese tea culture goes back hundreds of years and ceremonial tea rituals are still practiced by many. The most common type of tea consumed in Japan is matcha, a form of green tea made with whole finely ground tea leaves. Both the growing and preparation of tea are considered to be of great importance.

Morocco

Tea is a symbol of hospitality in Morocco and is consumed throughout the day by most who live there. Should you visit Morocco, you can expect green tea poured from several feet above your cup by the person serving it. Tea is typically prepared with sugar and plenty of fresh mint.

India

Did you know that “chai” is actually just the Hindi word for tea? What most of us in the west know as chai is known in India as masala chai, black tea prepared with milk, sugar, ginger, and cardamom. Masala chai is available almost everywhere and is usually served in a traditional clay cup.

Delhi

The tour can start in Delhi, the bustling capital city of India, with its rich history and diverse culture. The city is a photographer’s paradise, with its majestic monuments, colorful markets, and busy streets filled with people from all walks of life.

Jaipur

From Delhi, the tour can take you to the pink city of Jaipur, where you can capture the beauty of the iconic Hawa Mahal, the stunning Amber Fort, and the bustling markets filled with colorful textiles and handicrafts.

Udaipur

Next, the tour can take you to the romantic city of Udaipur, often referred to as the “Venice of the East”. Udaipur is a photographer’s dream destination, with its picturesque lakes, palaces, and temples.
