When you think of Liverpool, the first things that come to mind are usually The Beatles and Liverpool Football Club, but if you’re searching for a bit of a different experience, the English city offers many unusual activities. If you’re looking for attractions you won’t find in the guidebook, these are five you should try out.

Bongo’s Bingo

Not your grandma’s bingo, Bongo’s Bingo originates in Liverpool and involves raves, dance-offs, and prizes. And the prizes are anything but traditional—we’re talking about giant pink unicorns, Henry Hoovers, mobility scooters, and karaoke machines.

William MacKenzie’s Tomb

This pyramid-shaped tomb stands at 15 feet tall at Saint Andrew’s Church and is of British civil engineer William MacKenzie. The tomb was built by his brother in 1868 and houses William and his first and second wives. It also sits in one of the most haunted areas of Liverpool.

Magical Mystery Tour

It wouldn’t be Liverpool without The Beatles, and this Magical Mystery Tour departs from Albert Dock and takes you to the Fab Four’s hot spots—like Penny Lane, Strawberry Fields, and their childhood homes.

Shiverpool Ghost Tours

This award-winning ghost walk takes you to some of the most haunted and historical areas of the city. Let’s just say it’s not for the faint of heart.

Nerf Centre Liverpool

While this may be tailored for children, Liverpool’s Nerf Centre is a great for getting out your frustration. And if paintball is more you’re thing, they also have an indoor paintball arena that hosts a variety of different games.
