]]> There are many things that make the Intrepid Sea, Air, and Space Museum unique, but there is one that stands out more than the rest. We’re talking about the fact that the entire museum takes place in real wartime ships from World War II and the Vietnam War. Yes, that’s right—when you enter the museum you will be entering real pieces of history.

If you’re a history nerd, you’ll love the fact that not only is the Intrepid impressive, but on board there are also 28 restored aircrafts and the world’s first space shuttle! There are plenty of tours and educational programs, so you can learn all about each important piece of the museum. Even if history isn’t so much your thing, seeing all of these incredible ships, planes, and missiles is a really cool experience. You can always take some awesome pictures!

The Intrepid Sea, Air, and Space Museum is located on the west side of New York City on Pier 86. It has a beautiful view of the Hudson River and is very central to the rest of the city. It’s also in the Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood, so you can get some great food after your visit! This is surely something you don’t want to miss.

When the sun goes down and the bars open up, one great thing you can do in Manhattan is to check out a speakeasy. A speakeasy is a hidden bar that usually has something edgy or hip about it, and is often in unusual locations, like in the back room of a coffee shop. NYC has a ton of these!

Central Park

Central Park is an incredibly famous place, so you may be able to classify it as something touristy. However, because there isn’t much to do there, it tends to be shockingly low on most tourists’ destinations—so make sure to check it out!

]]> You cannot say you’ve visited New York City without hitting a show on Broadway! While these amazing performances don’t run cheap, there is one easy way to score discounted tickets.

TKTS is an organization that provides day-of and next-day matinee performance tickets for both on and off Broadway shows. You must show up at one of their four locations in Manhattan earlier than their opening time as tickets are first-come, first-serve. Not all Broadway shows are available, but here’s a list of my favorites that are usually offered — straight from a true New Yorker.
