Uganda is home to many natural wonders that make it worth the visit, but none of them compares to Murchison Falls. The most beautiful waterfall in this African country is a sight to behold, and the wildlife-filled setting of the surrounding national park makes it even better.

Located in the very heart of the Murchison Falls National Park, this cascading waterfall is the place where the wild waters of Victoria Nile drop roughly 40 meters, before pouring into the Devil’s Cauldron pool and flowing westward into Lake Albert.

There are many different ways to explore the beauty of Murchison Falls, but most tourists do it by joining a boat safari tour on the Victoria Nile River. Many safari companies operate tours in the region and offer a wide range of different activities, ranging from fall walks to hot air balloon rides and white water rafting adventures.

Part of the reason why these tours are necessary is the wildlife in the area. The Murchison Falls National Park has over 70 mammal species, including Uganda’s largest population of Nile crocodiles. It’s also an amazing spot for bird-watching because it’s home to many rare species that can hardly be found in other corners of the world.
