Thailand has many amazing cities in store that you should visit during your trip, and Pattaya is one of the very best. Its close proximity to Bangkok makes it pretty popular with tourists, and here are five reasons why you should consider exploring it.

Stunning Beaches

Most people visit Pattaya for its stunning beaches and offshore islands. After checking out Jomtien Beach and Pattaya Beach, make sure to visit the secluded Ko Phai Island.

Natural Beauty

Beautiful beaches aren’t the only natural wonder you’ll find in Pattaya. You should also put Nong Nooch Tropical Garden and the Million Years Stone Park on your wish list.

Party Time

One of the things that Pattaya is best known for is its amazing nightlife, and it’s one of the best places in Thailand to visit if you want to party all night long.

Family Fun

Despite its wild nightlife, Pattaya is also a good pick for family trips because it’s home to numerous kid-friendly spots, including several water parks and interactive museum Art in Paradise.

Beautiful Temples

Beautiful historic temples are scattered all around Pattaya and its surroundings. The wood-carved temple Sanctuary of Truth has to be seen to be believed, but you should also consider checking out Big Buddha Temple and the nearby Wat Yansangwararam.

There are many amazing ancient temples that you can explore while visiting Thailand, but the Sanctuary of Truth is unlike anything else you’ll see in this country. Located in the beautiful city of Pattaya, this temple is truly one of a kind since it was built entirely out of wood.

The construction of this Hindu-Buddhist temple started in 1981, at the request of Thai businessman Lek Viriyaphan. Four decades later, the Sanctuary of Truth isn’t fully finished just yet, and it’s highly unlikely it will be completed before 2025. It’s almost impossible to tell when you look at it, since it’s one of Thailand’s most beautiful temples, even in its current form. Numerous types of wood have been used in the process of its construction, and the entire structure has been envisioned in the Ayutthaya style.

Pattaya makes for a perfect day-trip destination from Bangkok, and if you find yourself here, keep in mind that the Sanctuary of Truth is open between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. every day. In addition to exploring this stunning woodcarving masterpiece inside-out, you can enjoy many fun activities during your visit such as ATV, speed boat, and elephant rides.
